Victoria Italian Assistance Centre Scholarship Information

The Victoria Italian Assistance Centre (VIAC) offers two, one-year scholarships valued at $1,200 each.

One VIAC Scholarship is available to first-time post-secondary students entering a full-time undergraduate program.

The second scholarship is available to a good standing VIAC member or to relatives of a good standing VIAC member who is also a first-time post-secondary student entering a full-time undergraduate program.

To be eligible, candidates must:

1. Be of Italian descent, no more than 2 generations apart (i.e., have at least one parent or grandparent of Italian citizenship),

2. Have attended high school in the Greater Victoria area.

3. Have an academic standing sufficient to qualify for entry into the post-secondary institution of their choice; and,

4. Have submitted a completed application form with supporting documentation to VIAC no later than June 15 of the application year.

The VIAC Scholarship recipients will be determined by a selection committee appointed by the members of the Executive of VIAC.

The VIAC will award each $1,200 scholarship directly to the recipients upon presentation of an official receipt of registration and fee payment from the educational institution to which the recipient has enrolled. Deferrals are tenable for up to one year upon presentation of the official acceptance of deferral from the educational institution.
